Why Hunger?

Updated: Mar 22

30 Hour Famine, Lock-in, Jr & Sr High Youth Group, World Visions

The Jr & Sr High Youth Group starved for unjust hunger in the Congo and all around the world for 30 hours and participated in a Lock-in. During the Lock-in the Youth had a fantastic Friday night and Saturday morning filled with games and lessons. Throughout the lessons they learned what it was like to be a 14 year-old girl named Marie living in the Congo and how hard life was for her and her family. They also learned how they can help the starving people of the Congo. Between lessons, Youth played games and had fun. When the famine was over they ate breakfast together and had a better understanding of what it is like to hunger for God.

The students raised $181.50 by selling Seroogy candy bars in the weeks leading up to the famine. The funds raised were sent to World Vision, a non-profit Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. The cost to help a child for one month is $40 and our Youth were able to help four children for one month with their funds raised! Way to go FALC Jr & Sr High Youth Group!
